Blog Entry: The very first Fortnite: Battle Royale school pupil is  visit this page  here. It is from Ashland University in Ohio, also will offer top Fortnite players4,000 value of tuition to join their newly formed esports app and compete on a squads team of four. This team will combine their additional esports offerings, Overwatch and League of Legends. Open tryouts for the squad will be announced sometime in the future. Ashland is a small college, just 4,600 students, also rated 223rd in the country by US News and World Report. Some have accused smaller universities such as this of trying to utilize esports as a publicity stunt, and while certain, it might partly be a marketing tactic, I do not see any harm in it. These pupils are getting tuition money, and then getting an instruction as a result. Nothing wrong with that, and I don't see why scholarships shouldn't be given for video games in the event the college is determined sufficient to establish a dedicated program for this. Why not? And no, I am not getting sucked into this "are esports real sports?" Debate for the thousandth time, since I believe it does not matter, and also the fact is that we exist in an era when schools are willing to pay people to play video games, and millions of people are seeing these events live and online streams. No matter esports "is," it is important, and hugely pertinent to younger generations especially. In terms of Fortnite, it is still in its infancy as an esport. While Epic keeps adding tools which are certainly helpful to get a prospective esports potential (the newest replay instrument is phenomenal), there is not a huge, centralized league in place yet like we see for Overwatch or League or even CSGO. There are tournaments, sure, but the game is still finding its sea legs in the spectacle. Not to mention that Fortnite could not be a huge esport at any point later on, but it's not there yet. As for this scholarship? I think it's cool, although I will  buy fortnite items  say that part of me wonders that if you're good enough in Fortnite to make yourself a scholarship to perform it, which you might be good enough to make at least $4,000 from Twitch or YouTube within the course of a year. Though I suppose, perhaps, you could always do both.
